A Wonderful Gift Sometimes we get a second chance in life To be the very best that we can be. To realize how very short life really is And to know that we're loved by our family. Life cannot be taken for granted For it can turn on a dime. Every day is a wonderful gift We need to make the best of our time. We all need to stop and smell the roses Taking the time to stop along the way As we may not get that second chance We have to make the very best of every day. ~ Angel of Hummingbirds ~ If I Could Live my Life Over Again If I could live my life over again And get a second chance I'd take the chance and hold on to it keep it tightly in my hands If I could live my life over again And get a second chance I would never ever let anyone down Or forget to give thanks If I could live my life over again And get a second chance I would never pass up on an opportunity To love and enjoy life's dance I've seen what a second chance can do To someone who was down and out So if I ever get a second chance I will take it without a doubt! ~ Angel Marianne ~ Just a Second Chance You never get a second chance to make a first impression Or at least that's what I'm told Some times I think for a second chance You must be a little bold Many times I've said things That I know must have hurt someone That's not something I do intentionally And it's not a bit of fun I wish I would have had a second chance When I told a man "just go away" Well he did and because of me He may not have eaten that day Just one more chance now if you please To say I'm sorry too To put it off until the morrow Simply just won't do I wish I had a second chance To say I love you to my dad You see he's dead and gone And now I'm very sad Not just because he's gone now For he's always in my life But because he never heard those words from me And never met my wife I wish I had given my daughter a second chance To come to me and say Forgive me daddy I meant no harm But alas I turned her away I wonder if I can get another chance To see my grandkids too They are the heart and soul of me They were the ones to see me through A second chance can change your lives And fill it with pride and glee Pride to say "I Love You All" And to hear back They all love me Now I'm in my twilight years Of rest and joy, yeah right But this I know I had that second chance Because my Lord God's with me every night. ~ Angel Pascha ~ A Second Chance A family disagreement ~ A parting of the ways Brought pain and anxiety To everybody’s days. Days turned to weeks, Weeks then turned to years, Painful, lost and empty times With many, many tears, He was ill and in hospital And wanted me to know. “Did he ask for me?” Well then I will not go. Stubborn and determined I sought advice from a friend. “Maybe it’s the best he can do” So I went to the hospital in the end. We were given a second chance To heal and to restore, We picked up where we left off I could not ask for more. He lived another year And together we spent time, Putting aside our differences And everything was fine.
