It has been nearly a year now since Angel Desert Moon and I put our heads together on what we thought would be a great online friendship group not only for ourselves to be members of but also for anyone looking for such a group. We talked over the things we both experienced positively in other groups and anything else we thought was needed to make Wings of Love and Light not only a positive experience to be involved in but also for the World itself. By joining so many in a purpose of Love, Friendship and Peace we felt this Light would extend beyond membership and reflect upon every life touched starting with our members and beyond.
Once we established a list of what we felt an online friendship group should be -- a safe place to come at your convenience to make new friends and have a great time -- we wanted to also do it without demanding members joining committees and put their time into areas they had no interest in. We felt that demanding them to do so or else they would no longer be a member was not allowing them to enjoy being a member, so we decided that the only "requirement" was to be a part of Chatty Angels. There, members could talk and get to know each other at their convenience, either through a Daily Digest of the day's emails or Individual emails. For anyone who has little time to give or a lot of time, Wings of Love and Light became the group that could provide this.
Now, of course, once a member we had to decide what we could call members. The idea of calling each other an Angel and having each choose his/her Angel name seemed fitting with our group's name and its purpose. Besides, we asked our Angels to assist us in making this group a success so it seemed a great way to honor these blessed souls as well. The name for the group also came from this love of the Angels and how each of us has "Wings of Love and Light", though not always visible to the naked eye. We embody the Spirit of what these wings represent -- Love and Light.
The "Realms" as they are known came from the Angelic Realm and how each Angel has it place in service. Each of the Realms at Wings of Love and Light has its unique and fulfilling purpose to offer members an enjoyable time and a way to express their creativity, caring and above all else...love. If you do not love your job, then it is time to move on and that is how we feel about each Realm. It should be a place of enjoyment each week and if the time comes to move on, then so be it. We all change and sometimes change is good, so there is never any ill will if a member decides to leave a Realm. Being a part of any Realm here should never feel like "work", where each week you try to do your part but it lacks the essential part....YOU.
When I was involved in other groups I loved the challenge of taking on multiple tasks and positions and doing more than the average person. Over time it became apparent that it left little time for myself, so in taking on the positions I do have at Wings of Love and Light I have left myself free time to do the things I love or simply to rest and relax. Most of the time when I am doing something related to Wings of Love and Light it is simply because I "want" to, not that I "need" to do something. I feel that there must be this balance in order to be perfectly happy, so Wings of Love and Light has become that place that I can do what I love without the expense of sacrifice.
Finally, I have watched members come and go and I always understand when one feels the need to move on as we all will do so one day. I always let them know that they are welcome to return if their paths once again lead to Wings of Love and Light. Each member has made me look at them with an open mind and hopefully learn something from who they are. I live in an area of great diversity and know that with such comes a great understanding of how we all fit together in this giant thing called Life. Although not always apparent at first, we do take something positive from every experience and then learn from it. I'm always open to learning something new from people and believe that if we all opened our hearts a little bit, we would allow so much peace and understanding in.
Thank you to every Angel who has entered the doors of Wings of Love and Light! You all allow others to know that there is a place where you can have fun, receive support when needed, relax and unwind from the day's stresses or just be yourself. Each of you is unique and special and yet when combined in times of need, you become as ONE. This is truly as the World should be and I'm only grateful that the Universe has allowed us this chance and this place to be a positive aspect of it :)
